Walking from your hotel to the gates
Kenmore Square to the gates
Everything in Kenmore Square is inside a ten-minute walk of the ballpark. The natural approach funnels down Brookline Avenue, which is closed to cars roughly two hours before first pitch.
- 1Head down Brookline Avenue towards the Citgo sign.
- 2Cross the Mass Pike bridge — Gate B is on your right.
- 3For Lansdowne gates, continue past Gate B and turn left.
Note: Brookline Avenue is the single busiest pedestrian corridor in Boston on a gameday. Add five minutes within 45 minutes of first pitch.
Frequently asked questions

Hotel Commonwealth, a two-minute walk from Gate B down Brookline Avenue with one crossing.

It is roughly 35–40 minutes on foot from Downtown Crossing. Walkable in fine weather, but we only list hotels within a short, confirmed route from a gate — downtown properties are not included.
Our walkable-only rule
Every hotel on this page has a continuous pedestrian route from a Fenway Park entrance: sidewalk, plaza or covered walkway, with no freeway crossing and no shuttle. Anything beyond roughly a 15-minute walk, or separated by a highway, river or rail corridor with no crossing, is excluded — however close it looks on a map.
