Editorial Standards
WalkToStadium.com exists to answer one specific question: can I walk from this stadium or arena to a hotel? Our editorial standards keep the answer clear and trustworthy.
The walkable-only rule
Our directory includes only stadiums and arenas with at least one confirmed walkable hotel. We list a hotel only if a typical visitor can reach it from an entrance people actually use, on foot, in roughly 15 minutes or less at NFL, MLB, NBA and MLS venues — and roughly 18 minutes or less at college stadiums. That means a continuous sidewalk, plaza, pedestrian bridge, or covered walkway. If reaching the hotel requires a hotel shuttle, taxi, rideshare, or a car, we do not list it — however close it looks on a map.
What counts as walkable
- Onsite: The hotel is physically attached to the venue or connected by an enclosed walkway, skybridge, or indoor corridor — for example a hotel built into the stadium complex itself. No outdoor exposure, no street crossing.
- Walkable offsite: A safe, legal, signed pedestrian route exists from a venue entrance to the hotel. It may include sidewalks, crosswalks, pedestrian bridges, and marked paths through plazas, districts, or parking areas.
How we verify hotels
For each venue we check official stadium and arena maps, team and venue pedestrian guidance, hotel location descriptions, street-level imagery, and fan reports. We look for a documented route, not just a short straight-line distance. If we cannot confirm a safe walk, the hotel is not included.
What we exclude
- Hotels that require a hotel shuttle, taxi, rideshare, or car.
- Hotels separated by freeways, highway ramps, rivers, rail corridors, or fences without a legal pedestrian crossing.
- Properties marketed as "near the stadium" or "stadium-adjacent" that are not actually reachable on foot.
- Hotels with theoretical routes that lack documented pedestrian access.
Affiliate links do not influence listings
We do not accept payment to feature hotels, and commission rates do not affect which properties appear or how they are ranked. A hotel is listed only if it meets the walkable-only standard. See our affiliate disclosure for more.
When things change
Stadium construction, road changes, gate reassignments, and hotel closures can alter walking routes. We periodically review listings and update route notes when conditions change. Always verify the current route before you travel, especially during major construction or severe weather — and check the gate assignment on your ticket, since walking to the wrong side of a large venue can add considerable time.
