Walking directions
Walk times are estimates based on an average adult walking pace from the listed entrance. Actual times vary with your gate, game day crowd flow, and street closures. Google Maps may choose a different gate or omit private indoor connections; follow the listed route notes and venue access rules for onsite hotels.
The North Monroe Street and I-10 hotel clusters are three to five miles out and are excluded — they are freeway-frontage properties with no pedestrian route to campus.
Walking from your hotel to the gates
Gaines Street is the walking corridor
The rebuilt Gaines Street corridor connects Doak Campbell to Collegetown and on to downtown with continuous sidewalk and marked crossings. It is the only route we count.
- 1Leave Gate C onto Champions Way and head east on Madison Street.
- 2Cross Woodward Avenue at the signal and pick up Gaines Street.
- 3Follow Gaines east into Collegetown, or keep going to Monroe for downtown.
Note: Post-game the Collegetown block is packed; the north sidewalk moves faster than the south one.
