Hotels you can walk to in the Ball Arena district

Walk times are estimates based on an average adult walking pace from the listed entrance. Actual times vary with your gate, game day crowd flow, and street closures. Google Maps may choose a different gate or omit private indoor connections; follow the listed route notes and venue access rules for onsite hotels.

Hotels west and south of the arena are excluded: those routes cross Interstate 25 or the Auraria rail corridor without a comfortable pedestrian path.

Walking from your hotel to the doors

Walk in from Union Station, not the highway side

The arena's parking lots surround it, but the northeast corner connects cleanly to LoDo. Everything walkable is in that direction.

  1. 1From Union Station, head southwest on Wewatta toward Chopper Circle.
  2. 2Follow the sidewalk past the light-rail platform to the arena's northeast doors.
  3. 3Coming back, the same route is lit and busy for about 20 minutes after the buzzer.

Note: The light rail stops at the arena, so even a longer downtown stay is one short ride.

Our walkable-only rule

Every hotel on this page has a continuous pedestrian route from an entrance visitors actually use at Ball Arena, measured through the surrounding streets rather than across the block. Anything beyond roughly a 15-minute walk, or separated by a highway, river or rail corridor with no crossing, is excluded — however close it looks on a map.
